Seventy-nine miles per hour. This is the top speed recorded on both Fenno Drive and Cordillera Way. High speeds are of great concern and present dangerous situations to those that use the roads. A Traffic Study conducted by McDowell Engineering in 2016 found that most of the Cordillera Metro District roadways have a relatively high frequency of speeding vehicles with Cordillera Way and Fenno Driver being specifically identified. As speeding continues to be an issue in the community, the CMD Board recently discussed adding more speed bumps should speed limits continue to be ignored. Also, the Sheriff's Office is conducting additional daily patrols to monitor speeding, reckless and careless driving. Residences are reminded that slow speeds should be maintained throughout the community as children, bicyclists, wildlife, horses and other automobiles share the roads.
